Otto, an adorable rhinoceros, has a favorite word. If you have small children, this is likely (and unfortunately!) a popular word in your home, too. Can you guess what it might be? If you thought of “no” (or you just read the title of this post…J), you’re right! And, if this word is used so often by your children that you feel like screaming every time you hear it, then I’m sure you’ll relate to Otto’s parents in Tracey Corderoy’s new book, No!

Once the sweet and innocent Otto learns the word “no,” he practices saying it ALL OF THE TIME; he uses it at mealtime, bath time, bedtime, and all through the day at school. Otto starts missing out on playtime with friends and even gets stuck in the rain, refusing to go inside. After using this word so much, “…sometimes he wished he hadn’t.” Finally, after a really rough day and a big hug from his dad, Otto discovers a new favorite word—“yes!”

This book is really cute and a perfect choice for children who may be going through a similar “no” phase.
