Let's Go to the Hardware Store

In this charming picture book by Anne Rockwell, a family with young children has just moved into a new, bigger house. When they get there, everything needs to be fixed, at least a little. Daddy takes the older children to the hardware store while Mommy stays home with the baby. As they walk through the aisles of the store, they pick out different tools and supplies. The book accompanies these selections with simple pictures that show different vocabulary based around tools. For example, one page shows different kinds of hammers. The next has a simple illustration of the difference between a nail and a screw. Children interested in using tools and fixing things will want to read Let’s Go to the Hardware Store over and over again, discovering new vocabulary words each time.
