Bridget
Bridget divides her time between the children's room and working at the front desk. She spent eight years working in the children's store at Books & Co. before coming to the library. She's enjoying her job as a storyteller, and really likes books about children and animals on adventures of all kinds! She loves hearing about what kids like to read so she can suggest some of her long-time favorites and help them find some of their own.
Becky
Becky has a background in education and has taught preschool and third grade. Her favorite part of working at the library is doing storytimes and seeing kids get excited about reading. She loves laughing, singing, and being silly with the kids. The Book With No Pictures and Bark, George are among her favorite silly stories to read.
Shelly
Shelly has done many different jobs at the Library, but storytime remains one of her favorites. She especially loves to read silly books and books with animal noises. Some of her favorites are Bark George, Goodnight Lulu, and What Color is Your Underwear? She also works with teens, so if you don’t see her in the children’s room she might be playing video games at a program.
Amy
Amy is the Children’s Programming and Summer Reading Club Coordinator. She loves storytime, but her favorite thing is planning programs because she gets to see hundreds of kids get excited about being at the Library! Her favorite program so far has been the Fancy Nancy party because she and her librarian friends all got to dress up and have fancy food. Her favorite children’s books are, of course, the Fancy Nancy books!
Jo
Jo has done lots of jobs at Washington-Centerville Public Library, including sorting books, shelving books, finding lost books, recommending books and checking out books to patrons. Her favorite times are family storytimes and any time she sees readers enjoying a good book in the library. She likes to read Froggy, Skippy Jon Jones, Angelina Ballerina and all the Dinosaurs in Jane Yolen books. She loves Pete the Cat and was thrilled to meet him in person! Jo did lots of storytimes when she was a preschool teacher and looks forward to sharing her favorite stories, books, and songs with you.
Joyce
Joyce is a Youth Services Specialist and the Children’s Collections Coordinator, so she‘s always on the lookout for wonderful kids’ resources and ways to help our patrons find what they need. Her favorite thing at work is putting kids (and their grownups) together with just what they want, whether it’s a wonderful story, a great information book, or super music for the car. At storytime, she loves to share some of her own very own favorite stories, including Book! Book! Book! – a fun read with lots of animal noises and a really silly pun!
Allison
Allison was a school library media specialist for sixteen years, working with kids from preschool through twelfth grade, before coming to the library. She loves connecting kids with books that interest them and seeing them excited about reading. One of her favorite things about working in the library is sharing rhymes, songs and stories together at storytime. She loves picture books, especially funny ones like Count the Monkeys or A Bear Ate Your Sandwich.
