Oh No!

I like to share picture books where children can participate, either one with a flaps to lift or a repeating phrase. It’s more fun for all of us. Oh, No! by Candace Fleming (illustrated by Caldecott Winner Eric Rohmann) is a fun story involving a hungry tiger, a deep hole and an heroic rescue. As various animals fall into the hole, the tiger licks his lips while the narrator (and children) read, "Oh no!" Never fear: a large hero appears and, at the end, it’s the tiger who’s looking for a rescue. Will the other animals help him? (Say it with me, “Oh no!”)

P.S. If anyone is worried about the fate of the tiger, take a good look at the end pages. Guest post by Charlette J.
